9 years in 2.8 seconds

He was sitting on a bench located exactly between the park's south corner and the subway entrance. She could see the Brooklyn Bridge from where, absolutely mesmerized; she stood, losing about 2.8 seconds of precious breathing time while on the phone with her friend.

Conversation with her friend
She: I just saw him! But 9 years from now

Friend: What, quien?

She: Well, HIM, Juan! pero he is 35 now. He is reading a book. Wait, he is reading The Shadow of the Shadow again? Or better yet- at the same time when he is 26 and 35? He wears the clothes he will wear 9 years from now. Same glasses, same way of sitting. I promise it is him!

Friend: you are nuts dude

Conversation with her head -happening at the same time as the friend conversation-
She: Is this really happening, or am I making it up now that I decided to pretend I'm a quantum physicist reading all those books...

Head: I think it is him. Gotta be. Go talk to him!

She: No way, what if he is not him..

Head: Fear paralyzes. Deje la bobada

She: Hi, ... Juan?

He: Hola Valentina

Head: Holly crap!

Valentina: Why are you 35? You are supposed to be 26; I am older than you, remember?

Juan: I've always been older and younger than you. I told you age is perpendicular and parallel at the same time, it can transport you forward and back. It does not exist unless you gave it a label in your head.

Head: Don't blame me now. If you let me drive your life, I'll do it

Valentina: -still confused- can I hug you?

Juan: you got 2.8 seconds

9.6428 years, or 3 seconds later...

Head: I am disappointed at you! You should have hugged him

Valentina: I did; you just did not notice. You are powerful, but I am aware.
